The TB side of my Habs trade

Created by: TGDline
Team: 2020-21 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 9, 2020
Published: Jun. 9, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Let's say T.B signs Cirelli and Sergachev and there a is CBO. What does T.B do when it comes to the expansion draft.

Who do they keep and how many 1st round picks do they have to give up to keep them all? With this trade Weber is a nice player for Seattle and Petry could be resigned. After they win the cup next year.
Plus if there is a CBO some old but, good players could fly south and play for cheap just to win a cup.
Now let me know what you think.

Habs have no reason to do that trade.

I'm a Habs fan too. This year is the only chance they have of winning the cup with Price, Weber and Petry. So I say trade them all. After the playoffs they need to fire M.B and go in the right direction.

Come on man. Cirelli is a selke worthy player at 22 and is probably going to end up being a 70-80 point player. Sergachev is a lot more valuable then KK at this time. I will say both Weber and Petry are better than Gourde but Tampa is giving away the two most valuable players in this deal and are getting older.

Ight but like weber is still one of the best shutdown defensemen in the league. Weber slightly > Cirelli, and then Petry, Kotkaniemi > Gourde, Sergachev

i would CBO gourde but i doubt CBO would happen, I would also sign a one-year 1 million deal for PK Subban and pair him up with Hedman (if cbo happens)

also I don't like the Habs trade

N.J not going to CBO P.K and if they did he'd go to Toronto.

I mean defintley not all but they would be able to get rid of at least one of Gourde/Johnson/Palat and Killorn, maybe two
So they would protect Point, Stammer, Kuch, Cirelli, and a combination of the guys they still have. On D they could protect Hedman, Sergachev, and McDonagh. Their problem isn't the expansion draft, its cap space to sign guys this off season, which is why they would much likely accept an offersheet for Cirelli/Sergachev rather than make this trade.

Why do you think that? Which forward does Tampa actually need beyond Cirelli, Kucherov, Point and Stamkos? They protect Hedman and Sergachev and two of McDonough, Cernak and Foote. What am I missing?

that may be true because Cory Schneider I forgot about him, but PK Subban has a higher chance on winning the cup in tampa.

All the player with no trade clause. Do you think any of them are going to yes I will go to Seattle?

It's only No Movement Clauses that entitle a player to protection in the expansion draft. A player with a No Trade Clause is not protected from selection by the Seattle team.

Neither does Tampa, You don't trade 2 young core piece in Cirelli and Sergachev. For aging players in Petry and Weber. Especially seeing that Petry only has one more season and Tampa couldn't afford to resign him.

Tampa says NO, You don't trade young assets for older players. Not how cup teams operate.

This is a bit nonsensical. MTL pays for Weber to play and likely win in Tampa then pays him to play for Seattle as Tampa likely trades him there for smaller pieces. All while watching Tampa replace Cirelli with KK in the next 3 years and help them out of cap trouble all at the time.

Cirelli and Sergachev help but still sends them in the middle of the pack. Sergachev would be on a island and Cirelli would just force Suzuki to the wing.
