Not sure I understand why Boston does that deal. Since 2017:

Vrana - 224 GP / 62 G / 64 A / 0.56 PGP
DeBrusk - 203 GP / 62G / 58A / 0.59 PGP

Vrana isn't an upgrade over DeBrusk, so why is Boston adding a 1st and a prospect

I don't know why I feel like DeBrusk shows so much promise but seems to underperform. Could just be my perception. Vrana is just clutcher ig lol

I like Orlov but I think MTL says no, they need a top LD who moves the puck and put up Pts they have chariot on LD whos a shutdown who doesn't put up a lot of pts they need someone above him who does that and puts up pts....so orlov isn't their guy especially at 5.1M for another 4 years when they have big contracts coming up next year and the year after they have some guys too.

IDK that I'd say he underperfoms, he's a typical streaky goal scoring winger. When he gets hot he's dangerous, but when he's off he has nights where you forgot he was on the ice. DeBrusk is clutch, he was a huge reason Boston beat TOR two years ago. I personally think he doesn't benefit from playing w/ Krejci. DeBrusk is at this best going north/south and having to skate. Krejci is an east/west change of pace kind of center and that doesn't suit DeBrusk well. DeBrusk needs linemates that force him to skate and I think that's why he looked good play w/ Bjork and Coyle this year when they put that trio together. That trio managed:

CF% - 57.0%
SF% - 55.2%
GF% - 66.7%
xGF% - 61.9%
SCF% - 60.9%

In comparison when DeBrusk plays on a line w/ Krejci:
CF% - 51.6%
SF% - 51.0%
GF% - 52.0%
xGF% - 51.6%
SCF% - 50.7%
