Carolina aren't retaining 1.5 mil for 3 years when they need to re-sign Svechnikov, Hamilton and Necas in that time frame

I think the Hawks will just keep Nylander. I also very much doubt they can take on Rasks contract.

Columbus would match that I think. Pens trade is horrible for Pittsburgh and the Calgary and EDM trades are horrible for the Wild. We also shouldn't be trading Ek unless it's an overpayment, so I don't like the Hawks trade.

I really doubt Edmonton trades Yamamoto, especially for another RD.
And I'm willing to bet Zuccarello would not waive his NMC. He said in an interview that he signed in Minnesota so he'd only play NYR twice a year. So I doubt he'd want to go to the Metro

Columbus instantly matches that offer sheet. And their biggest problem still remains (goaltending).

A lot of these trades make no sense for either team. The Flames trade is especially on the bad side of things, I’d almost say Hanifin and Lucic (even at 4.25) cancel each other out in value, so you’re practically giving a 1st which will likely be 11 and will be in the range of some elite talents (Rossi, Lundell, Mercer, Quinn, Jarvis, Askarov), on top of that you’re giving a PPG winger in Fiala.

Agreed. Hate the hawks trade. Don't sleep on Eriksson Ek. He's never going to impress you with points, but he adds so much to a team that doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

And no chance we trade Fiala for Defense. If Fiala's moving, it's for a franchise center. We've been searching WAY too long for a talent like him just to give him up so easily. Plus, if we're taking on Lucic, we're not dishing out 1sts...we'd better be getting 1sts.

Oh I'm not sleeping on Ek at all. Only way if move him is for a 1C and even then I'd rather not. You need guys like him to win cups

Yeah we aren't trading Fiala. He's a stud

Sorry, I meant thread starter shouldn't be sleeping on Ek. I know you wouldn't. I just quoted you because I was building off of what you said.

Most teams don't need huge overhauls. This ACGM is just a lot of robbing Peter to pay Paul as far as the players go. It doesn't really do anything to make MN better now or in the future.

I'll give you credit for at least trying different ideas instead of just the same old ideas everyone else is doing. There's problems as people have noted, but considering you aren't a Wild fan, it's hard to understand what the team needs and what pieces they'd move.
