U can’t buy a player out & bring him back on a cheaper deal
Even in Okposo was bought out & we replaced that lineup spot with a league minimum player, we are still over the the Cap
Buying him out only saves us 2mil,
minus the Cap hit of who replaces him

Plus u have no 13th forward or 7th defenseman figured in

Even if we get a CBO for Okposo,
we still wouldn’t be under the Cap when u add 3 more players & figure in the bonuses from this season

Your signings seem fairly realistic (Larsson a little overpaid),
so (in addition to Okposo getting a CBO)...
think you’d either have to trade M.Johansson, or replace either Stastny or Dubnykwith a cheaper option

Really bad Vegas trade, overpay for two UFAs who probably walk.

As a Buffalo fan, I would have done both deals, although I’m not sure that Minnesota would do this, Brodin is in many respects one of the best defenders of the league.

I think I would take Dub out then, but I think you can get still get under the cap with these moves

Tell me how? A potential top 6 center and top 10 draft talent and a pretty much sure thing future top 4 defenseman? Brodin has much lower value being a UFA in a year

Doubt they can resign him though. I think this is a fair deal for the Wild, they need center talent

Only if we get a CBO on Okposo as well

I do like what u did overall,
we just don’t have the Cap room to make it all work

He’s probably looking at Mitts as a bust & not having value
That’s partially fair imo
I do think some teams would still like him,
but i don’t think we’d get god value for him coming off a down season

I think this playoffs could determine which way Minny goes
If they lose in the 1st round, they could blow it up & a trade similar to what u suggest could be attractive to them

Which is ultimately sad for how poor this roster is constructed lol

Fair, I personally think they need to head into a rebuild. They have been spinning their wheels for far too long

They were certainly headed that way, but then they seemed to really put it together in the 2nd half this season
I agree with you,
but if they make a decent playoff run then they might be convinced to hold off on that rebuild for another year
