Well, you've definitely overpaid EDM and SJ (though the Oilers might have to refuse for cap reasons).

Holland isn’t trading JP unless it’s a steep over payment. Kerfoot is a decent 3c option but holland has been looking for a winger to pair with mcdavid that can fit under the cap. JP checks off every box holland is looking for above average skater, big frame, can protect pucks, good hockey sense, fairly accurate good shot. Time heals wounds holland knows this. With this sporting pause and a huge delay to start next year that’s more time for holland to fix the final big disaster charelli caused. This seems a lot more possible than trading Lucic... not only pulled that off but was able to send to biggest rival and get a 20 goal scorer with zero clauses attached to deal..I’m sorry but JP holds a TON of value to oilers and holland has no reason to rush to make a deal.
And for those that believe his value has dropped or the ask is insane and like to point out then why it hasn’t happened yet since he left there hasn’t even been a chance for holland to seriously do anything. JP was in Finland so a mid season or deadline deal was highly unlikely doesn’t make any sense for either side to do that’s a draft/offseason trade which we are nowhere near because of the shutdown.

Plus JP ain’t jumping on the plane to come back here to play in a bottom six. That’s why he’s in Finland now. Haha

He said he doesn't want to play for the oilers. Am I wrong? His value isn't that high and your way overvaluing him. His value is a second and third. No more. He won't develope with you guys

Correction his agent said he won’t play for oilers. JP has said recently even never say never. That could be him not wanting to add full to the fire or perhaps holland is slowly getting threw. There is absolutely no reason for holland to accept lower value. How is a young team controlled top six forward that just put up a point per game in Finland only worth a 2nd and 3rd? This isn’t a failed prospect or one that couldn’t stick with the team it’s a case of not providing him a chance to advance in line up. That’s on Todd and charelli both are gone. I don’t think any oilers fan really blames JP for leaving after seeing him utilized the way he was for as long as he was. While he was in Edmonton I will admit his value took a bit hit because of ice time with Lucic but since leaving he’s been dominate.

TOR declines the EDM trade.

DAL declines the TOR trade.

SJ probably accepts.

We're talking about the same player right? The guy with 37 points in 139 NHL games is a top 6 forward? He had a good year in Finland but lets not kid ourselves saying that he has all sorts of value. If they decided to trade him or he decided he doesn't want to sign, they'd jump at this offer since they'd never get it. This is an established NHLer and a 2nd round pick for a guy that was drafted 4 years ago and hasn't done anything. If he wasn't an early first round pick, he wouldn't be back in the NHL
