That's a pretty easy no from NSH. Not saying Risto to NSH couldn't work, but that ain't it. They won't trade one of their top offensive prospects for a defensemen that they aren't in desperate need of. They could just pick up a d in free agency and keep those players/pick. And it messes with their expansion draft plans, which are already difficult for them without adding another d they would need to protect.

That's an interesting offer for Leddy. Gives us a scorer with only one year left on his deal and gives us a little cap space. I don't know anything about Jacob Bryson, but never hurts to have more defensemen in the system. Only problem is this doesn't really save us THAT much, only $1.5M with the retention. If the Sabres are willing to take on more salary from NYI like Komarov, you can keep the retention and we'll add a 3rd.

Of everything noted here the expansion draft piece is definitely something I overlooked and makes me realize now how deflated Ristolainen's trade value must be since he'll likely create that problem for whichever team acquires him. Botterill's got a tough gig.

On point. Not bad value wise but if moving Leddy alone in a deal no salary can come back. If Komarov would accept the trade to Buffalo then Leddy and Komarov with a 3rd or Aho for Johansson and Bryson.

Unfortunately other moves would still need to be made, but this would be very helpful. Other option for Leddy to BUF is for picks and prospects. Or the Sabres retain half of Johansson's salary and we don't include Komarov.

Like the deals with the Jets. Not sure I would make that trade with Arizona would rather keep Copp. Hard no on the trade with the islanders. Plenty of free agent d that can be had that would be just as helpful at a lower cap hit and would not have to give up any assets for. Leddy is basically a cap dump with that AAV

I think the jets pass on that one. Good point on the expansion draft, but I think they lose this deal. Id rather see the jets keep both Copp and Roslovic and target D in free agency like Demelo, Hamonic, etc

If the 2nd was a 2023 conditional on the Ristolainen resigning they consider it wouldn't be losing harkins or Appleton in the expansion draft. If copp doesn't like the money we offer could go to arbritation and be a ufa next year, his agent is. Kirt overcharge. Clears a bit of cap space, could pursue a 2c in free agency next off.

Did you seriously just trade for Leddy by giving up our best offensive D in the system
