Trades
1.
CGY
  1. Rasmussen, Michael
Additional Details:
DET- Rasmussen wasn't Yzerman's guy it was Holland's. Dillon Dube is a lot closer to an Yzerman player than Rasmussen, Dube has a lot of the traits Brayden Point and Anthony Cirelli have. Dube is also a much better skater. For reference Dube 0.30pts/g, Rasmussen 0.29pts/g, in the AHL Dube 1.0pts/g Rasmussen 0.63pts/g.

EDM- nobody will give a 1st for JP. Maybe they can get a 2nd though. But in this case, Holland goes for his "guy" that he spent a 9th overall selection on. Rasmussen could be the #3C the EDM roster lacks.

CGY- hurts to trade Dube, but the Flames really liked JP in his draft. They say they wanted to trade up for Tkachuk... that's all lip service, it was for JP. The Flames also have Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane, Pelletier, Lucic locked in on the left side for another 2 years. LW is an area of organizational strength.

Why would you trade Dube for Puljujarvi? I wouldnt consider that for a minute.

As a Detroit fan I would keep Rasmussen in this situation. I'm not a fan JP and hope he doesn't come to Detroit. Why not trade Dube for JP?

he'll be lucky to get $5-$6M.. he's had 3 consecutive subpar seasons. & the starting goalie market isn't huge. No one's gonna over pay for him when he'll be 31 in a few months

And look at how that contract has worked out. The Panthers were rewarded with .900. His best case scenario he somehow gets 6.1 again, but even then I see him taking a 1 year prove-it deal. I think he will look at how Talbot revived his career in CGY and try to do the same.

What he did after isn't relevant, the point is if it was on the table for bob it will be for holtby

Bobrovsky also had 2 vezina's on his resume. I can almost guarantee you he's not getting as much as you think he is. He's just not that good anymore

no it's not? ... it's an exact thing that GM's will stay away from paying him the big bucks when he's on the trend downward. It's completely relevant actually.

Just curious. Who do you think is offering Holtby and his .897sv% 7 million a season?
