Description

I am planning to make an all-time team series on YouTube for every NHL club & feel that picking the goalies for Pittsburgh will be a tricky one. My choice for starter for Tom Barrasso, he won everything for a player in his position & posted great numbers for his era. Should he in the HOF.

For backup, I don’t know who to choose between Murray & Fleury. They are the two most significant goalies in Penguins history after Barrasso in my opinion.

Personally, my choice would go to Murray because he’s put up better results in the playoffs, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that Fleury holds most of the regular season season records. So I’m putting a poll for y’all to share your opinion on this debate.

Murray has only played for four years. If you take quantity+quality, Murray. Fleury will get the edge because he played more

Fleury and it’s not even close for me

Not a slight towards Murray, but Fleury embodies the Penguins rise in the 21st Century. He’s in Vegas now, but I’ll always think of him as a Penguin tbh

Fleury is better big time before when he was young and even now when he is in his late 30s
Murray isn’t that good this year
Murray was only really good when they won the cup the rest he wasn’t that great
I don’t think Murray is even a all star

And to the comment about Barrasso and the HOF... While I had a few very nice interactions with him, he was a COMPLETE a-whole to the press and usually a general dbag off of the ice. The people that do the actual voting are more likely to give Barrasso the finger right to his face rather than vote him in.

Murray > MAF. Is my vote.

Lot of people here have some weird memories of MAF. I remember him watching soft pucks go past him into the net costing stacked teams playoff victories.

Besides the team plays differently for Murray. And always has.

Fleury as of right now. Matt Murray's story hasn't been completely written yet. It could get better...or worse. He's got a tremendous start, but he's got a ways to go IMO. If he gets traded...then its not even close, but again just 1 man's opinion.

I mean just Bc history MAF, but Murray is the better goalie, even with a down year. MAF is super inconsistent too and makes 7m for 2 more years ....

I mean vegas doesn’t wanna move him Bc he’s doing a knock out job....

Fleury career wise, but people like to forget how bad fleury was in the playoffs from 2010-2014. he blew multiple Chances at the cup for us. I’m glad we have Murray now

I smell BrandonDubinsky fan in this guy linking all of us.....Only time Murray won was when he had Fleury's help in playoffs. Fleury was doing it by himself a few times throughout the years. Fleury has the history of being a great Goalie. Murray since Fleury left hasn't made it past the 2nd round, and Fleury made it to the Finals once.
