I think it depends on where the Kings come in on the lottery. If they manage to get one of Lafreniere, Stutzle, or Perfetti, then I think that Iafallo becomes expendable. However, if they get Byfleid, Drysdale, or Raymond, then they still need a guy that can play 1LW, and he's probably not going to be for sale.

The price is probably okay. Kings get another 1st and an expansion draft exempt prospect, both of which they're looking to get. They already have a couple 2nds in next summer's draft (another one coming if Clifford re-signs in Toronto), so I think they'd probably be willing to part with one of them.

Iaffalo and Coleman are very different people.

Yeah, this is WAY too much to give up for an Iafallo rental.

On surface it defiantly looks to much for Iafallo. Coleman got a 1st Round pick and Nolan Foote (2019 1st round pick). Iafallo isn’t worth as much as much as Coleman. So we’re giving up our 1st round pick (hopefully a late one), Samorukov (good but doesnt have the value the Foote does) for Iafallo WITH an extension which is important here and a 2nd round pick. So yes Coleman is better so we’re not giving up as much for him. We’re giving a worse prospect and we’re also getting a 2nd round pick back. I think we can pay Iafallo relitivley cheap and he can play up and down the lineup. It might be a bit of an overpayment but I think it’s close enough. Just how I see it though.

Your evaluation is off. Pronman ranks Samorukov basically equal to Foote.

But here's the thing: Foote sucks at skating. Very few players with Foote's skating deficiency make it to the NHL regardless of how well they can compensate at lower levels.

I feel like the better trade would be samo and a second for iafallo
