I definitely appreciate this feedback more than the first two comments. My thought was that the Oilers window is open now, and it's becoming more common for teams (especially on the west coast where travel is tough) to go with a 1A-1B goalie tandem as opposed to riding a single player for 60+ starts. Koskinen's 2018-19 vs. 2019-20 performance speaks to that in some respect, and Murray seems like a solid bet to bounce back.

For Murray... (not one-for one but...) the only players I would have interest in are the likes of Klefbom, Bear, RNH. That's figuring that McDavid, Draisaitl, Yamamoto, and Nurse are off limits. No one else is really even interesting (especially considering contracts).

He is a NHL starting goalie. Not an NHL backup level guy that you are trying to make an NHL starter the way Edmonton has for, well, for most of the last decade.

You know the Pens roster/needs better than I do, but is a relatively cheap player with potential who can also contribute immediately not what the Pens need? Jarry played a very similar number of games during the 2019-20 season, and a Jarry-DeSmith tandem should be much cheaper than a Murray-Jarry one. A flat cap will be a big factor for a contender like the Pens.

And don’t listen to them, they don’t know the oilers players like the oiler fans do.. almost everybody in this site hates to admit that the oilers players are actually good, and that they have value. That’s why it’s so hard to make certain trades because they will all hate it no matter what you do. People also hate to admit that there is more then just their little fan base in the word of the NHL.
