The career of Dennis Seidenberg

Team: 2019-20 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 15, 2020
Published: Jun. 15, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
He really was a stereotypical depiction of the late 00s/early 10s' Bruins... big, physical, tough, very good at defending.

Being a shutdown d-man, he never put up insane offensive numbers but he still had two 30+= pts seasons, his 2nd one being in 10-11, when the Bruins won the cup.

He starter to decline when the Bruins as a whole did, around 2015. He was bought out if I remembered correctly when the organization recognized that his style of play didn't belong in the new NHL.

He still signed as a FA in Long Island where he played two years, in 16-17 and 17-18.

Overall pretty good top 4 d-man but was never much more than a number 4...

No Seidenberg, probably no Cup in 2011. He was #2 D that year.

Definitely a reliable defender at his peak. Gave the hawks a tough time in 2013, nothing but respect for seidenberg.

Uhhhh ya. He was an absolute monster for a few years. Super underrated and a VERY high end number two d. For what it’s worth, he logged more minutes in the cup run than any other bruins skater. I had him ahead of Thomas in my conn smythe list. In order of important for that cup run, I would say 1. Chara, 2. Krejci, 3. Seidenberg.

You’re way way way off saying he was never more than a number 4.

As a Leafs fan I agree. I remember watching back in the 2013 playoffs (when i first was becoming a hockey fan) and always being frustrated by him and Krejci
