Huberdeau leads the Panthers all time in points. It’s not a high bar, but it shows he’s worth more than this. He’s making sub six mil when they’re already looking to cut costs.

Foegele gets 3 mil, Bean will make at least that at the end of his ELC too. Not cutting costs, more just kicking the can down the road.

Or... and hear me out... they don’t trade Huberdeau and keep a pretty damn good player on a hell of a contract a little longer.

You are not getting a 90 point player in Huberdeau for that. I think it takes Necas, Pesce and a first minimum

So keep him, go nowhere (on brand), lose him for nothing and come out worse than you came in?

Or, and hear me out, they can re-sign him. They can make space to do so by shifting either the Mathewson deal or the Bobrovsky one.

He makes 2 mil. That’s literally average for a 3rd liner.

Why would huberdeau stay when they're at bad at being good and bad at being bad, they're destined for mediocrity for the forseeable future

Hes like a 20 point player. He does nothing to improve our team so we pass. Can easily get 30 points out of a cheaper player

25-30 in the right role, he was on the 4th line for most of the season because they were just that deep

Ignoring the fact McGinn has almost had 20 goals in a season before, where do you see these sub 2 mil guys producing more than McGinn? I’m sure every contender wants a tree they grow on.

He’s the franchise leader in points, why would he leave? He has a claim already to being the best panther ever.

It’s not. But he could make it a high bar. That’s exactly my point. Beating Oli Jokinen isn’t impressive. Beating the 1000 points of Huberdeau (should he get there) would be a high bar though.

That offer is not even close! Over 65pts in the last 3 seasons and he’s just getting better and better and he’s on an extremely cap friendly contract under 6M.
It starts with necas, 1st, one of slavin or pesce And probably even more. You want to get a big fish like him you really have to pay a high price.

Ummmmm our own player Marcus Sorenson, who outscored him in the past two seasons while making 600 thousand less. Also almost had 20 goals a season ago!

Well it would normally be just fleury and reimer but the 3rd is for the much needed retention
