If Ottawa trades Brown it's probably in a package for a big improvement to the roster. Dermott is a 3rd pair Dman.

I think Meloche might have slightly more value, but why not. They both probably won't make the NHL and we need forwards while you need defenseman.

Just curious what Brown's value is?

Not saying he's bad but he isn't worth Brown and also isn't going to fit on Ottawas left side when they are ready to compete unlike Brown who has a chance to play on the team for the next 10 years as one of our four centers. Chabot, Brannstrom, England, Wolanin will already occupy the left side

In a straight up deal, I'm not moving him for less than a 1st bare minimum. There's no way anyone pays that, but there's too much upside to move him for less. That's why I think if he's moved as a big piece in a larger deal. That's how Ottawa gets good value back for Brown. I think they look at a C like Cirelli or D.Strome.

Seems like a fair AHL player swap

Ottawa trade is a no as brown just does not look NHL ready and is struggling to much. Dermotts numbers are comparable to many top defenseman when they were his age so would rather keep him.

Florida trade is a risk as no guarantee Priske will do well in the NHL.

As for the San Jose trade sure.

I agree, people need to understand the reasoning for why he is on the bottom pairing. Hes only 3rd pairing cause how do you have him infront of Muzzin or Rielly. The answer you dont. In general Dermott's statistics are incredible and many top 4 defenseman today had those numbers when they were his age. With each year I fully expect him to get better and better.
