I had to think about that Oilers trade for a 2nd but I like it. Opens up a lot of cap space for the Oilers to improve this offseason and next. Plus they have a cup winning winger to play on the 4th line. Won't score much but it'll be a big help I think in PK and defense from the forward position. Like I said, had to think about it but I like what you did there

That Edmonton trade is awful for Detroit. There’s a reason they were only able to swap with Lucic. Helm is only one more year and we retain half. Nothing wrong with letting Helm play on the 4th and pk. If Neal is coming to Detroit I expect quality futures.

I was not sure what to include, would you want picks or another prospect added?

Helm at 50% has value of like a 3-4th at TDL. Neal is 3 more years at 5.75M so that’s a real tough pill to swallow. It would be much cheaper for them to dump Russell if that’s their goal but I don’t see how Neal doesn’t cost at minimum a first round pick and they are already missing their next two second rounders.

Both interesting...think wings would prefer JARRY over Murray at lesser cost & cap hit...neal not so much unless Berglund is a stud..intriguing to look at ..at least initially
