Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Some various thoughts.

Assuming Detroit gets pick #2 in the draft and goes for Byfield.
Sign Lehner. We need another goalie and he can be the starter easily.

Trading Z to St. Louis and getting Faulk (who I guess has had a rough time there) back gives the Blues a ton of salary cap space and Detroit another RHD. So that's primarily a salary cap move.

Sign Gagner if he's willing for a couple of years to hold down the #2 C position until one of Raz/Velano/Byfield is ready.

Bury Abby in GR. I'm sorry Griffins fans.

Need to find out if Svech can play; same with Timashov. If not, they'll get waived.

Detroit still winds up with a lot of cap space this year and with Helm and Fil contracts expiring, lots going into 2021-22 season as well.

Wait, why do the Blues take Zetterberg? Or give you a top 4 D for a 3rd?

I'd do it if the Blues re-sign Pietrangelo. Faulk probably wouldn't go though. He refused the trade to Anaheim because he wanted to be on a contender again, as he hadn't been on one his entire career until his last year with the Canes

Z is on LTIR. Combine that with moving Faulk and they wind up with almost $10M in salary cap space to sign Pietrangelo and others as needed.
