The value's close but I doubt Vancouver does that. They will have enough cap space next season. The only time they will have cap troubles is when Pettersson and Hughes comes off their ELCs.

It will be much cheaper to trade one year of Eriksson than 2 years of Eriksson plus Baertschi. Makes sense for Vancouver to wait a year.

fun fact: Podkolzin has a podcast called "The Podkost" its a pretty good podcast and I'm just kidding and why you even believed me in the first place was just foolish on your part if you're still reading this give up!

That’s a good point, was wondering if VAN lack of picks, as well as Fabbri helping them compete now might entice them to pull the trigger. I understand Fabbri’s success in DET is a small sample size.

that’s a Hard No! In a sense not a bad deal if ur trying to trade for podz. but nothing I want to do at the moment, especially taking on Louis. losing those draft picks is huge!

I’m gonna pass on this from Detroit and Vancouver will probably pass too. Would much rather deal in draft capitol for cap dumps as I’m not the biggest Podkolzin fan.

I think those picks are more valuable for Detroit than Vancouver. Something that is unlikely but that Vancouver would love is if Detroit signs Markstrom and trades him to Vancouver half retained. I think that would have more value to them than the picks or Fabbri.

I think the value is probably fair and I understand if either does or doesn't want to do this deal.

For Vancouver, I think waiting a year and trading Eriksson on an expiring contract makes sense. He'll be cheaper to move and we can absorb his cap hit for next year. Moving him before we re-sign Pettersson and Hughes is a must though. Also I think the Canucks would prefer not receiving Fabbri and those picks and instead giving up something other than Podkolzin. Maybe something like:

Eriksson + 2nd 2021 + 2nd 2022 for a 5th

Not sure if the value is right but just a simpler deal with less prime assets. I wasn't a big fan of Podkolzin until the KHL Playoffs where he played really well.

I am not breaking your chops here but why would the Wings do that. What comes back in return?
