Description
Vancouver signs Markstrom long term. Vancouver trades talented goalie prospect Demko (who will likely be looking for a raise next season) who is stuck behind Markstrom in order to move Eriksson's contract. This will provide them with enough cap space to sign Pettersson and Hughes the season after.

Ottawa negotiates with Eriksson that he will play one season in Ottawa and then gets the option to be bought out (or not) the next season so he can choose where he wants to play.

    take Wolanin out retain 1.3 of Nilsson, reduce Virt Stech and Gaud too 2.5 each. Sign Tanev for 4

    About US$13.6Mil in the "bottom 4" (that's a sh*t-load a Loonies) and still one more roster player required (esp. w/ VAN's travel sched)!

    Not great value for Ottawa at all. I'm not a big believer in Demko as more than a backup, and Wolanin is better than Juolievi.

    If Tanev was gonna take 4M the Leafs would sign him (hometown team).

    Stetcher would go to arbitration. Virtanen and Gaudette take an offersheet.
