Both teams hang up.

Simmonds isn't needed in MN and the contract is for way too much money.

I get why you are passing on this offer, just wondering, in your opinion what would you think is a fair offer from Wild for Mittelstadt?

Zucc being added tanks the deal imo.

Imagine being the GM of a team that now pays 9 Mil to Skinner, 6 Mil to Zucc, and 6 Mil to Okposo. Yikes

Agree, I've kinda come to the opinion he isn't going anywhere.

I do think Skinner will bounce back if he gets to play with Eichel (or any quality linemates really) again. He's still grossly overpayed though.

Exactly my thoughts. When he got that contract I was shocked. He had one hell of a season but to warrant THAT kind of contract I did not see. Blew my mind.

Yeah he'll bounce back, but will never be worth what he's being paid

It was a panic move so the guy they spent assets (it was a good value trade for a rental imo) on didn't walk as a UFA. Then playing Reinhart with Eichel instead of Skinner will mean Reinhart gets paid and the Skinner deal looks even worse.

What are Sabres needs in your opinion?

Looks like a 2c but I think Cozens fills that in the next two or three years. I wonder if Sabres should look in to getting Strome from the Rangers, a guy who could hold down the 2 spot until Cozens is ready and then move to the 3c.

What other big holes are there?

Shore up LD, 2RW, and goalie.
They could use some PK specialists but not for the price of Mitts

I'm high on Mitts. Higher than most. I know that he didn't come in blazing (very few do) but I see no reason that he is not still a top prospect. He was great when he was drafted, great the year after he was drafted, had a down first season in the pros, and was pretty good last year in Rochester when he wasn't injured (25 points in 36 games). He should not have played in the pro's that first year, he should have seen time in the AHL first, which he did last year. I think he gets a little more seasoning down in Rochester to start the year but I'm very high on him as a 2C. I haven't seen anything that would tell me otherwise at this point.

To answer your question, for me personally to move Mitts, it would have to be to improve our top 6 right away. If its not for a top 6 forward as part of a package, I'm keeping him and letting him develop.
