I honestly don’t know exactly how it’s going to work because the league explanation seemed confusing to me, but basically all the teams that lose in play-in round will be eligible for the lottery. If VAN loses against the Wild they’ll have the option to keep their 2020 1st and send NJD their 2021 1st instead.
