Created by: Sabres923
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 17, 2020
Published: Jun. 17, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
IR players who should come back.
LTIR UFA options
Healthy scratch- players who could be traded.
Trades are realistic options that can improve this team.

The players in the lineup are untouchables or will 100 percent be on the opening night roster in my opinion.

I dont think I would trade for either of the stromes. I think it would cost more than I would be willing to get them.
I think domi would be a great fit just dont know if it's worth a top 10 pick this year which I'm sure they would want depending on how far back mtl picks I wonder if they would do trade something like
Domi 2020 1st for
2020 1st 2020 2nd and tage thompson

Honestly dont think Domi is available until after he signs a new contract. Maybe next summer but he is safe until then

It all depends on management but I think Domi's not available at the moment, especially for a divisional rival. Best case scenario for him would be to take a prove it one year deal and cash in next year.

Except if Montreal makes it to the final four I don't think your offer would be taken, jumping 5 spots along with an early second and an injury riddled prospect isn't worth it I think.

I'm not going to speculate what the package going to SJ for Hertl and Labanc would be, but it starts with the 2020 1st round pick (BUF) and either Samuelsson or Ullmark.

Stay far away fron Ryan Strome. You'll overpay for a guy who Panarin carried. He's a 30-40 point guy on Buffalo. An overpaid one.

I'm just not a big believer in trading a valuable asset (or more) for long-term help at #2C when the Sabres already have Dylan Cozens (and, more remotely, Casey Mittelstadt) in the system. That's why I continually suggest a short-term free-agent solution like Erik Haula as a transition instead. Suppose Cozens comes into the lineup sometime this year and over the next two seasons really shows that he's ready to play. Ergo, in 2022-2023, he'll have the #2C slot and what will the Sabres do with Max Domi? Put him at LW, where Buffalo already has Olofsson and Skinner? Put him at #3C? Put him at RW? Hertl presents a different problem. He can be switched over to RW, but suppose he's no longer a member of the team? And the jury is still out on the Strome boys.

I should have split them up in different trades. I don’t see a package trade.

That's fair. All I'm saying is that Hertl and Labanc together are going to fetch a hefty price
