I have a hard time believing the Ducks are going to kick the expensive defenseman can and sign Tyson Barrie this offseason. This team is a work in progress, and I think this group will take things slow and steady. If I had to make a prediction, I think Rakell gets moved for futures and the Ducks sign 2nd, or 3rd UFA tier defenders. Maybe like Radko Gudas? He will probably cost you half of what Barrie costs and I think he'd be a good veteran leader for this young group.

Thanks. I always appreciate the positive feedback. And I think the Ducks will continue to sign UFAs to 1-year deals and sell them at the deadline as a rental. It's a trend move that seems to work decently well for rebuilding clubs. And that's why I could see them signing Derek Grant, Matt Nieto, etc. Low cost guys that get you a future or two aint a bad way to do things.

I mean Fowler (this year) was at least competent defenseively... (And a good bit better offensively, but I a normal year they're about =)

No, he's an okish bottom pair PP guy who's really good on the PP (which we can no doubt use, but not worth 5+ mil, especially rn when he'll regress by the time we're actually decent vs just drafting a guy like Foerster and waiting a few years)

We'll deal you Allen, but you'll need to bump that pick up 2-3 rounds.

Wth is that Silf trade? Do you really view him as a cap dump? Is any player older than 29 with a contract that takes them past 33 years of age a cap dump now? Ridiculous.

Agreed on Barrie. I don't think Rakell gets moved unless we win the lottery. Having said that, C is our priority position. Well... RHD is, but this year's pool of RHD prospects is significantly weaker than its pool of Cs IMO. Now, obviously we'd draft Laf if we won the lottery, but adding Byfield or Stutzle would also be fantastic for us.

Lol...someone just showing they don't watch Fowler... or can even read his statistics. Fowler far better defensively than Barrie and far worse offensively. Like not even close to a reasonable comparison.

laugh laugh Anaheim is nowhere close to being playoff contenders, And fat chance of Anaheim getting the 3OA pick plus Stutzle has already said that he plans on playing over in the DEL for another season. And Barrie want to play on a legit contending team and sorry Anaheim isn't one.

Why in the hell are we just giving away Silvy like that? Especially when you don't make any corresponding moves to replace his reliable offense. Any trade trade for Silvy starts with a first and that's non-negotiable. There's zero pressure to move on from him.

My pretty safe assumption is that if Stutzle was given a shot to make an NHL team next season, he would stay in North America. It's too good an opportunity to pass up. Thow in bonuses he will likely be maxxing out and I can't see him going back to a development league when the NHL is knocking.

Yeah, whats with the salt? We have a 26.1% chance of getting a top 3 pick, so a pretty good chance actually.

Huh? I think you misquoted. I'm the Ducks fan. DiehardRedWingsFan58 never responded. However, I agree with you. He/She certainly seemed salty to me and I have no idea why. Very out of character for them too, who, aside from spamming that Fowler has a 4 team trade list, is usually level-headed and easy to talk to.
