How does Huberdeau cost more than Eichel? I can't tell if this is a troll or not. You're WAY off on everything

Ummm... No.

I don't know what is the most foolish thing here: The Huberdeau trade, the Eichel trade or the Gustafsson contract.

That's less but yeah agreed

Eichel starts with Barzal, F prospect and Beauvillier and then pick(s)

No way. Huberdeau is def bringing in significantly more.

- Nelson = 2C, 25-30G guy locked up
- Dobson = most valuable Isles prospect. Stud RD.
- Holmstrom = most recent 1st round pick
- 1st/2nd plus a throw in

Eichel
- Bottom 6F with no real offensive upside
- 2nd round pick dman. Unproven to any degree on a pro level
- Great F prospect who could make the jump soon
- 1st/ 2 2nds.

Taking contract into consideration he is 100% as effective. Obviously Eichel has him on offence, but Huberdeau isnt a slouch in that category while also being miles ahead defensively

If Eichel forces his way out what package do you think he will get?

So the hawks just take on albatross Andrew Ladd and give up a pick? No retention picks or players coming back to hawks? Ok...

Position has to be taken into consideration on everything you just mentioned. If you say that Barkov is close to Eichel, I think most would agree. JH is not. That package doesn’t come close to getting Eichel even if he demands out.

Honestly I feel if Eichel demanded to be traded, 95% of people here will be underwhelmed by the return

I’ve said this before. Buf has less then 0 reason to move him. He’s signed for 6 more years. If he sits out he loses 10M a year. He can complain all he wants, Buf tells him to suck it up and play your contract. I’d rather have him play for six years and leave UFA style then have the package you posted above. There’s a very real chance that 3/4 of those pieces are out of the league or never made it in 6 years.

Any offer for either for Eichel or Huberdeau starts with Barzal.

I 100% agree with you. I just feel eventually all GM's cave with player requests. Technically they could stand pat and not trade an unhappy player, but eventually there's going to be bad locker room karma, which will then most likely effect the team chemistry, etc etc. And soon the Gm is going to feel the pressure from media/management. Might not happen, but its happened before.
