Thought they might have wanted him to play with Eichel but that can be really any team wanting a top 6 forward

They don’t need left wingers, they have Skinner, Olofsson, and Johansson.

That's a no from Calgary.

Switch Ghost with either Konecny or Farabee.

It's honestly not a bad start to concocting a Johnny Gaudreau trade, but I am not sure that does it. I am also not sure Calgary wants a partial futures package back. I honestly think Sanheim and Konecky for Gaudreau would do it.

The cost to acquire JG isn’t worth it in my opinion. Zero chance I’d include Frost,TK, Farabee or Sanheim in an offer so from a Calgary standpoint it’s a no go anyway.

The Ghost inclusion really hampers that package value for Gaudreau. CGY doesn't have a big need for Ghost -- re-signing Gustafsson for $2.75M would actually be a better quality player and a better quality contract.

Sanheim or Myers + Frost + 2020 1st + 2021 2nd is probably closer. If that 2020 1st rounder was around pick #15, I think Treliving would say yes to Sanheim + Frost + 1st + 2nd and use the cap space to sign a UFA as a sweetened asset in the deal.

CGY would want more imo. Doubt they want Ghost, no one really want that guy anymore because hes bad. I think they'd want Konecny on top of this. Gaudreau is an elite player.

Konecny would have been a good get a year ago, but he broke out this year and is signed to a pretty sweet long term deal. I don't see the Flyers moving him.

For me I'd want Myers, plus any two of Frost, Farabee or Patrick, and forgo any picks, but that idea has been shot down by Flyers fans who are understandably high on those players.

Hard to see the market for Gaudreau being Konecny, in addition to Morgan Frost, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick. Konecny has more trade value than Gaudreau does in the trade market. Rather keep him instead of adding for Gaudreau.

For us to bite on JVR you gotta retain 1.5-2 mil or you have to take back some salary (MoJo, McCabe, Hutton) and we would only give you a 3rd or 4th

Trade market doesn't necessarily correlate to talent or on-ice value. Most trades involving player's of Gaudreau's level - Ryan O'Rielly, Mark Stone, Phil Kessel, Vincent Trocheck, Brayden Schenn, etc. - never get a young, established player near a PPG who just signed a long term deal with a relatively low cap hit. There isn't any recent trade history that would support Konecny + for Gaudreau.

Say what you want ab out Konecny but Johnny hockey drives the play when hes on the ice.
Hes 90+ point player.

Konecny is good but Gaudreau is playing chess while Konecny is playing checkers.

Gaudreau is definitely the better player of the two, but even players who are considered top-five at their position never have an established player coming back, in addition to upper tier prospects and 1st round picks.

I would do Gaudreau for Konecny gladly. I get why Philly would say no.

The only hope for me is that PHI ownership wants to be aggressive, this in effect gives them 10 years of Gaudreau
