hornqvist is a good leader and will surely end his contract on the LTIR. he may be a good vet for that team. I think Ottawa would take hornqvist but yeah pens would have to add some sort of sweetener

Agree but Hornqvist is not going to waive for a rebuilding team like Ottawa. He may want to go to a contender but most likely the Pens will need to retain a lot of salary.

That was my reasoning, I think they would need to add a mid-level prospect or another pick or so but I'm not quite sure who or what that is.

this right here. He's not waiving to go to OTT.
Besides, OTT doesn't want him.
Their owner is cheap as hell. He's not going to pay for an aging vet with slowing feet.

Hornqvist declines. He might waive his NTC, but not to go to an AHL team.

I like Hornqvist, but I don't see that happening without Bobby Ryan heading out the other way, which I don't think would make sense.

I dont know how youd convince Hornqvist to go.

IF you could convince him, thats too much salary to take for free

OTT declines.

Exactly. And there's no way it makes sense for Ottawa otherwise, they're paying one of them huge money to play 4th line minutes.

I mean hornqvist wouldn't play 4th line minutes in Ottawa. he'd be a good vet for that team. but he wouldn't waive his NTC and Melnyk wouldn't pay him

Bjugstad doesn't seem like enough of a return for Larsson, and the Penguins already got a great deal from Holland when it became clear Marino wasn't going to sign last summer.

He's a good player, but he fills the same spot in the lineup as Bobby, which is my point. Sens have Brown and Batherson as their top 2 RWs.

Larsson should never even be thought of to be considered to play above Marino.
