Could consider a conditional 2nd = Cup win, or G & A targets, or re-signing w/ BOS...

If you retain you need to give up more. The conditional 2nd could work but Zboril is not good and Kase has had some injuries but is a good player

Retaining wouldn't matter for New Jersey because they aren't going to use that retained cap for anything. Why does Boston have to give up more because of that?

Retained and gave up two guys who are/will be NHLer's and a conditional 2nd...that's plenty enough for 1Yr.
