Its almost impossible to do a fair trade for any of the top end franchise centres. Its going to be bad for the team trading the player. Unless there is some weird scenario where two of them demand a trade at the same time and its a 1 for 1, its going to be some convoluted trade for futures and prospects that is going to make the team losing the star player feel like they just watched their dog get run over. There are no other scenarios. Like if McDavid demanded a trade, which is the only time Edmonton would even consider trading him, they are going to get hosed. That is the case for any of the big young franchise centres. If Eichel demands a trade he'll get a huge return but it probably won't equal Eichel. Same goes for any of them. 3 mid to late 1st rounders could find net a superstar but more likely it gets a bunch of good secondary players.
