Tbh I think Hank has a good bit of value. Certainly more than people believe on here. Coming up with comps are going to be tough because he's literally the best goalie since Hasek and Roy.

I wasn't sure how big the cap was between Ghost and Trouba is. I think Trouba would be a great fit in Philly because AV tends to like his dmen to just pass the puck out the of the zone, and not carry as much. Whereas Quinn likes his dmen to carry the puck and that's what Ghost is great at.

So I think it could be a good change of scenery for both.

But I'd be totally fine changing that 2nd to a 1st.

All you’ll get for him is a 4th IMO

Giving a 2nd for a 38 year old goalie is a big overpay

4th for him unretained sure....lol

NHL teams kill for reliable playoff goaltenders. And Hank is the most reliable playoff goaltender still in this league.

Petr Mrazek goes for a 3rd and 4th as a rental. Robin Lehner as a rental goes for a 2nd. I still think Hank has a ton of value and I think most GM's agree...

Maybe it has something to do with them being better/younger than him... just saying

Right, but in a single season, that age difference becomes mostly moot. That's the point. You're trading to a team that has everything except goaltending and wants to make a cup run. That's San Jose. That's Minnesota. That's what you're aiming for.

The contract estimate is from Evolving Wild. They're pretty much always spot on.

We'll see. If the Rangers play Hank in the playoffs he'll have a chance to show the league if he still is. If the Rangers start a goalie with 12 career starts that'll speak volumes about what he has left in the tank...

Most other teams would say “you couldn’t pay me to start Martin Jones in the playoffs” but I hear ya.

I mean if there's any team around the league that seems to not have a problem with age, it's probably the one that keeps Thornton and Marleau around at 40 and signed Couture, Burns, Vlasic, EK til they're all at least 37 if not 40. Wilson's made it clear he's cool with the oldies.

Great! Still not paying for Hank. No team in the league will, and thats if he would even waive which he shouldnt.

Trouba isn't waiving for Philly, And fat chance of Lundqvist waiving his NMC for San Jose the team is trash right now.
