Thoughts on drafting Braden Schneider with 15th OAL pick???
Ew. Much prefer the forwards who will be available at the spot by a large margin. Never draft for need.
BS will likely be a fine dman who would fit well with the leafs, but the guys we'd be passing on make that a bad pick. I think BS goes far too early in this draft no matter what, so let that be another GM's problem.

Thoughts on drafting Braden Schneider with 15th OAL pick???
Ok expert on Mr Schneider is here. Draft him and I'm dead serious. This kid is legitimate. Big, strong, isn't afraid to hit, plays a very good defensive game, plays a tonne of minutes, and could push for a spot this year. Needs to work on his offense but I don't care for that. Even if he ends up just being a defensive defense man that's perfect for rielly
If not Barron. Kid was looking like a top 10 than the blood clots happened. He has the potential to bounce back and become an pulock or Ellis type
Schneider an excellent skater?
I thought skating was his weak point???
no his skating is fine the issue is will the offense be there at an NHL level. Rn scouts worry he mainly gonna be known for his defense and not for his 2-way game. His defensive skating is great and man can he check. Honestly Trouba is what I feel he could potentially become but be better defensively.
In general Schneider is basically everything the leafs would want in a defensive prospect. He checks, blocks shots, breaks up 2 on 1s, isnt afraid to drop the gloves, and has the size and weight to potentially be NHL ready. Dont know if Dubas keeps the pick but we shall see.
Now that the draft is over and we have had time to disgust it.
How do you think Dubas did?
What player drafted jumps out at you?
One thing that concerns me is, we drafted a couple of small guys.
2 of them are 5'9 and another 5'8.
Size should matter some right?
Dubas had a top-3 Draft along Canes and Kings.
Niemelä drafted in 3rd round is a robbery. One of the smartest two-way Dmen this year.
Height average for Leafs picks was 5'11. Some will grow an inch or two, some wont, but its not concerning at all. But they all are going to get heavier and play more heavy and that is whats important. Also due to not having a combine, some players heights are from a year ago. Topi Niemelä on draft day was listed at 5'10, but he currently is 6'0 tall.

Fair point.
Alot of these guys are projects too will take to develop.
