Sabres entertian the Domi deal but probably don't make it. Sold on the other two as is.

I was thinking of a trade similar to this but the Habs send Domi and Olofsson to Buffalo for: 1st, Jokiharju, Hutton and Okposo
With Dahlin getting at least $8M after next year I figured they would have a hard time re-signing the rest of their roaster without gutting the core of their team, unless they can dump Okposo and Buffalo would have to pay a high price for another team to take on his salary.
I think Hutton could be a good enough to play 1 year as Price's back-up while we wait for Primeau assuming Hutton passes a medical of course.
We could then draft Rossi, and Perfetti with the 7th and 8th picks or try to trade them and move up in the draft to grab Byfield.
We could move out Petry with the Joker taking his place and grab another 1st (probably a 2021 1st) and a prospect.

Our Line-up could look like:

IMO I feel in each trade, its a little lopsided in one direction.

The Columbus trade just doesn't make sense to me. I don't see why Columbus does this. For a team trying to win now, they are getting worse now.

I would love the Domi trade but I think you need to replace Olofsson with an actual prospect that we care about. Think Poehling. Olofsson doesn't hold much value, he's lost a lot of what made him a former 2nd rounder the past couple years.

Montour for 2 2nds also doesn't make sense for Buffalo. They are trying to get better now, it should be for a player that makes them better instead, not more draft picks. Risto is likely to be traded over Montour though.

I don't see BUF moving that pick. Especially in this environment.

They need a window to have a chance to compete in to make that move. But they don't really have one.

As of right now this team needs to continue to slow build. TOR, BOS, and TB are still looking top 3 in the division after this. The best they could hope for with this roster is a WC, but the Metro is totally stacked.
Some times you have to out think your opponents and use strategy. It's not the time to do this. Keep the really high pick, let time be your friend.

I'm not entirely sold on the idea that Johansson is a notable upgrade on the stand-in #2Cs we have already, so I'm not seeing much benefit for Columbus in that trade.

With Botts still in charge having to make the team better and quick I see the Domi deal happening, but with a new GM in town settling his things this offseason I don't see them trading their 1st. He'll most likely let the team head scout make the picks and do some wheeling and dealing in the free agency period but that's pretty much it, he ain't shipping that first.
