That WSH trade is brutal but I dont see anybody saying how ridiculously horrifyingly bad that STL trade is for Leafs and also that Florida one.

because they are minor deals compared to vrana.

but werent you the guy that had travis dermott signing for his qualifying offer? and is a 2nd round pick 2 drafts from now for a 20 goal scorer that bad?

The Bortz offer is good value player-wise, but the Blues politely decline. Washington, on the other hand, laughs and hangs up.

Compared to Vrana they are smaller but like still just as horrible.

Yeah I had, similar to Marcus Pettersson who is on that level. But generally I think he would sign at about 2M for 3 years.

Acciari is a 4th liner. Im not Lou to pay 2nd round pick for that.

no, they are not "just as horrible"

Acciari played 15:58 a game and put up 20 goals in 66 games. sounds like hes more than a 4th liner

More silly belief that other teams RHDs are so much better than Leafs Dman. Tanev and Bortozzo cost 5.9m. Leafs would 100 times better off keeping Holl at 2m, Dermot 1.9m, and then have 2m extra in cap.

They are just as horrible. Top-4 D + for #6-#7 D.. horribly horrible.

Yeah he had 20 goals and he had also 19% shooting percentage. He is not scoring 20 again in his life.

Laughably bad offer for Vrana.
Big overpay for Bortuzzo.
Idk about that Acciari trade, a 3rd is the most I think he's worth but he had a decent year and is cheap for two more years so maybe it's realistic, tough to say but every year there's as good or better players that get picked up for a lesser pick.

Agree to disagree on the Blues deal. Dermott is younger better and cheaper than Bortuzzo Dermott could very well do something on the bottom pairing Engvall is whatever but Bortuzzo is good, but I’m not sure you understand the value Dermott brings. Toronto would decline more than the Blues.

Oh, I'm sure Toronto would decline also. But my thinking is both Dermott and Engvall are RFAs due raises. We ain't got time for that. As for Engvall, he might be useful, but we already have might be usefuls striving just striving to see the ice. Bortz is solid and dirt cheap, and his level doesn't drop if he sits a few games at a time. If Petro was already re-signed, then sure we might go for this. As is, nah.

Dermott and Bortuzzo are probably pretty even value wise. Each team’s fans probably think there guy is a bit better, but both are quality players who are best as third pairing defenseman. Blues don’t need another LHD and Bortz is loved in the lockeroom so we probably stand pat.

Who are both better than Dermott. And we have Gunnarsson as solid 3rd paring guy with Mikkola and Perunovich coming up.

GAR, xGAR, WAR from evolving wilds model, Micah Blake Mccurdy's model. All the Public info I know of on transition metrics and natural stat trick. RAPM and isolated impact also point to holl being better

So you’d rather have Justin Holl than Seth Jones?

Jones is more talented but Holl had a better season. If jones continues on his current path I would much rather have holl especially considering their contracts. My point is that Holl has had a better season but Jones has really only had one great season in his career, the rest have been mediocre. That season he should have won the norris by far.
