Larkin

Created by: RoyalBlueSabres
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 21, 2020
Published: Jun. 21, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Going all out for Larkin to create one of the best Center combos in the league. I know Detriot is building around Larkin so its probably not gonna happen but maybe for the right price they would consider prolonging the rebuild to find away to be more stacked in the future.

Good because you're not getting him, He's not on the market. And if we wanted Cozens we would've taken him over Mo Seider.

I think we would be able to resign him. This team would be pretty good. Especially if ullmark keeps playing better.

I’d do that from Detroit and just structure a few contracts to expire to give Larkin a massive payday in 3 years. Allows the tank for next year (tons of top tier defenseman) and Wright’s draft. We should have a loaded pipeline of talent and be an attractive FA destination.

This is the only way I would trade Cozens for a young bonafide center. Cozens is gonna be 2C unless we have Larkin (:
then we would not need Cozens.

That's a lot to give up for three years of Larkin, I just don't see it as worth it for Buffalo.

He’s actually a bonafide minute munching defenseman.... but let’s keep pretending he’s some mid b tier prospect.

One of the best answers I've heard to that question was from Sabers fan. I don't remember who it was but he said:

Quoting: Unknown Sabers Fan
Detroit feels the same way about Larkin as we feel about Eichel.

Honestly Arizona does that, but Caps doesn’t. I don’t like Ristolainen, so I don’t think he is worth that much.

Risto is a hard evaluation. His perfect role would be 2rhd and I think he would really thrive. He is certainly capable of Putting up points and his game is perfect for playoff hockey big physical and capable of producing points. He needs a change of scenery and when he does he is gonna make some team very happy

Yeah fat chance of Larkin resigning with Buffalo, He's a local Detroit kid and our future Captain. Bottom line he's going absolutely nowhere. Eichel will be gone from buffalo before Larkin is gone from Detroit 100% guarantee it.

Because Larkin isn't going anywhere, He'll be 24 the last day of July. Yzerman was 32 years old when Detroit won it's first cup back in 997. Larkin still has 9 years yet.

If Larkin actually got traded in a scenario like this, it would be very likely that he resigned. I get your point that he wont get traded, as in Eichel wont get traded. Just a fun idea. Also to say eichel would be gone before Larkin is silly. If Detriot blows again why would Larkin not be just as upset as Eichel because of losing. And Larkin in a talent threshold would be easier to obtain than Eichel, and Eichel has 6 years left and Larkin has 3 so I don't really why you would say Eichel would leave before Larkin, but go off

No way Larsson get a 4-year contract and that's an overpay for Larkin.

Both will probably be in 10+ years so I don’t think it’s a valid point lol

Just saying you hear more Eichel trade rumors then Larkin, Larkin is a local kid playing for his childhood team. Same can't be said about Jack Eichel there's a big difference there.
