Uh sharks decline. No one is getting Merkley and certainly not for that pile of steaming garbage. Jones is better, cheaper and younger that Schneider and theres rarely a chance to say that. McLeod as a prospect has significantly declined since his draft while Merkley has dramatically improved not only his offensive game but his defensive game has been stepped up significantly. Including his attitiude which was his biggest gripe when drafted. Dale Hunter, his coach with London has high praise for him after this season. Merkley is out top prospect by far and hes not being moved for a forward prospect who would actually not even be our best forward propsect (which is saying something) he would be behind True, Chmelevski, Leonard and even Chekhovich.

Sorry for the long winded response but that is a garbage trade and will never happen. Good luck moving McLeod anywhere tbh.

Subban and Okposo do not cancel each other out, Okposo has been bad for like 3 years now, Subban has had 1 bad season - Subban can and probably will bounce back , Okposo most definitely will not

It's like a Decade before Merkley would see Top 4 mins in SJ - total waste - Schneider and Jones both bad equally both have the same shot at a bounce back season Schneider is 2 years Jones 4 years - you don't want Jones and that 6 million for 4

It's the same amount of money - Sabres are free of Okposo a year sooner - and get a useful player in Subban , Montour hasn't worked out, Risto has pretty much been run out of town and he isn't getting you an Ehlers he's getting you a Kessel

Well then trade something worth it for the sharks. A young top six forward on an ELC would be fair. We have no interest in the worst goalie in the league and a guy in his draft+5 year who cant even cut one of the bottom teams in the league.

No one does, he's still serviceable on 3rd pair and it's 3 million he's basically a million over payed can see Pitts retaining a Million to gain basically 6 million in cap savings

To your other comment, Pittsburgh is not retaining $1M on Johnson. If Pittsburgh was to retain on Johnson then there is no reason to trade him.

Replace Michael McLeod with Nolan Foote or Tyce Thompson and you have a deal. Ryan Merkley is way too valuable to SJ for us to not get a B or A-tier prospect back.
