I think Pens would have to give up more to move Bjustad's cap hit. Maybe others see value in him but I'm really not a fan of Bjustad.

I could see Jarry being a fit in San Jose though, nice deal.

What do you mean give up more? He has Ottawa paying to take on a cap dump whose real salary is more than his cap hit (Melnyk vetos that instantly).

I think the Labanc trade is relatively close in value.

We'd probably want back a better prospect than Bjorkqvist, but I like the trade nonetheless. Also I think the max Labanc will be getting is 4 million, so you don't need to overpay him imo.

I think that trade is fair even favoring San Jose over Pittsburg. And I like Bork upside

Fair enough. Just looking at Bjorkqvist, I don't see a ton of NHL upside, but he's still good. Looks like he's dealt with some injury issues too so maybe his stats are a bit smeared for that reason. I'm not really the one to say whether a Pens prospect is good or not though.

Sharks cant afford to say yes. Without Labanc our right wing is abysmal. This deal could only work if the sharks have a seperate way to bring in two top six forwards which is very unlikely

You sound just like me and normally I’d agree but that’s a really fair deal and it’s so hard to pass up.
I figure Marleau gets resigned and put on RW noesen resigned and that’s our 3rd and 4th RW, we should
Pick up a middle 6 in FA and move Meir to RW and trade for a middle
6 LW to fill out the roster

I think Pittsburgh would have to pay a team draft pick compensation to get rid of him. Such as giving up a 3/4 round pick plus Bjustad for a 7th. Ottawa shouldn't have to pay to take on a cap dump.
