Everything you just wrote makes sense, is well written, and firmly grounded in solid logic...but i still think the Wild can do better for Brodin’s services.

Thank you for the compliment. I think the other option would be to chase Domi, but MTL I don't think needs Brodin not that Minnesota needs to trade Brodin. Not sure what the other options are for teams that have a top 6 center, maybe Cirelli?

Cirelli is pretty much the perfect fit for the Wild!

Agree, but the cost is going to be higher and the Lightning can't take on much cap. Have a feeling that might start with the Wild's 2020 1st round pick.

Revisit multiple AGMs that have Strome and a 3rd for Brodin that folks have said is a good trade for both sides.

Yeah, I've seen plenty of ACGMs made by non-Wild fans suggesting this with other teams fans saying good deal and so on. There aren't many Wild fans clamoring for anyone with the last name Strome. I think @Paul13 has suggested it before, but that's hardly "most" as you've suggested.

You got me I'm guilty, but recently I just don't have the stomach to trade Brodin for anyone, I've settled on keeping him and either developing a younger center (Mittelstadt or Jost or someone else with a high ceiling that needs a change of scenery, who won't cost the Wild a high end player) or offer sheet Cirelli.

I still like Strome, but Brodin is so good. The more I think of the Wild without him or worse Chicago with him the more I struggle.

I'm not saying you're wrong, it's your opinion. You just happened to be the only Wild fan I could think of that suggested this awhile back. As @MNBassman said, the trade on paper makes sense. I just think most Wild fans see both Stromes as being the product of the wings they've had.

If you offer sheet Cerelli, it's going to cost a 1st and 3rd as you know. I don't think it's a bad move for Minnesota and maybe there best option. Betting on Mittlestadt or Jost is too much risk for guys that haven't been able to show they can center a top line let alone a 2nd line. Hawks bet on Strome and it worked, but they also had Toews, Anisimov, Kampf and Kruger at the time. At least they had a 1C in place that was a sure bet and no problem in the bottom 6. If I'm Minnesota, I'm going after Domi, Strome, or Cerelli and also taking a risk on Mittlestadt or Jost. The Wild aren't bad, they just need a couple good young centers to help build around.

Trading Murphy for a forward is the dumbest thing this team could do. I pose, do the Hawks need more offence? I put Murphy after Keith on defensive coverage, ice time, and the pk. With Murphy gone, and nobody coming back on the blue line, the Hawks defensive line becomes more thin.
There maybe people here who will suggest that Boqvist, Beaudin and Mitchell can pick up the slack. In time, that will happen, it shouldn’t be expected at this point in their careers.

With a new tv rights deal and expansion going through. In 3 years the cap could be through the roof.

Then it won't be a problem to pay him. The cap number doesn't matter, its the percentage of the cap that matters

I'm one of the people saying Boqvist and Mitchell will pick up the slack. Boqvist played top pair this year with Kieth as well as top PP unit and looked pretty good. Mitchell is better coming in next season than Boqvist was last year and is better defensivly. He could easily play top 4 minutes, just depends on if JC lets him. And as most hawks fans have talked about on here is that Seabrook won't be in the press box most games. He will play the majority whether hawks fans like it or not. So if we ever want Mitchell to get top 4 minutes, murphy will have to be moved unless we can find a way to unload seabs (who won't waive a NMC anyways)

Toronto deal has been pretty widley agreed upon on this site. You definetly could be right about the AZ deal, I really wasn't sure

doesn't matter about this site... Leafs value Kapanen extremely high internally. It's gonna take a lot more than a bottom 3 d-man 1 for 1 to move him

Boqvist is still a kid. My observation was he didn’t do anything extraordinary (live up to the hype ... and I am the first to dismiss expectations. In most cases, it is impossible for an 18/19 year rookie to play to hype consistently.

There is no doubt in my mind that the three young defencemen the Hawks have will all be taking regular shifts on the big club soon, but now is not the time to move a young and cap friendly contract on defence for another forward.
