I don’t love the idea of Nuge at 3C when he’s been so great in the wing but...those are 3 very balanced lines

If this trade was made, we could run these 3 lines pretty consistently at EV, the 3rd just getting a little less time, but against weak competition. Nuge would still get 19-20 mins with PP and PK time, as he should.

Doing this really puts an emphasis on how much they need help on the wings.

Just keep Samorukov, he's a LHD, and I've really never been sold on him, and replace him with like a pick of even value whatever you think that is (probably more value than I think he has anyway lol) I would normally be very opposed to getting Pulju, but a safe forward spec (see Poulin from PIT, or a guy like Lavoie) would interest me less bc the ducks have a ton of similar guys, may as well hope to get that tiny shred of potential left in Pulju (as long as you don't overpay, and he's not the main piece in the trade)

For the Oil, they have lost a lot of picks in trades already, and were at max contracts this season (not even including Pulju who is on reserve). So imo just makes sense to offload a prospect at a position of strength (Jones and Broberg being ahead of Samo), than to trade even more picks. Just my reasoning on it.

yeah, fair, I'd prefer a guy like Marody or Benson over Samorukov tho, maybe even like a Ryan Kuffner, he's certainly not as safe of a bet as the other two, but man he's fun, he can really shoot a puck too

Kuffner or Marody it is! Benson I value higher than Samo, he's ready for 3rd line duties imo.

I would still do the Nuge-Draisaitl-Yamamoto line and then do the Rakell-McDavid-AA line. I don’t like having Nuge as 3c, when he’s a top 6 player and could play on the wing with Draisaitl.

I doubt we would make this deal just base on the fact we are in the same division. It is even in value I guess, but its a very friendly deal for the oilers. For that reason, I would decline. Anaheim needs more to consider dealing him to the oilers. On his contract year at the deadline sure. With 2 years left....naw dude. Seeya.

rakell is probably gonna leave after his contract is over so trading the first is probably bad

Have you seen the players that go for a late 1st rounder in their contract year lately? Rakell for 2 years would at 3.8 mil per be well worth that pick and the extras I included here. And if resigning at the end of that doesn’t go well you trade him out for other pieces...but those two years of a good winger in the prime of Drai and McD is great. And insurance on if Nuge leaves for some reason.
