Description

Yall Must Understand how business works, not just hockey

A team that is near the CUP (a contender) is not going to trade their entire team / future away for Eichel, because thats when he ends up on a crappy team in 5 years once they realize they have no prospect pool left

More likely, they would trade to a rebuilding trade, or even a young up and coming team:

Here are three ideas of teams that are getting there, and would build around Eichel:

Then Below are two teams that are serious contenders and WOULD kill themselves for him right now:

POINT IS: Stop tryna make trades with teams that dont make sense. and when someone tells you they dont want it and explains why, dont argue with them lol.

Eichel

Again: another team that its gonna give up Mcavoy, not gonna give up Pasta, probably wont give up Carlo or Debrusk either, but i put them here for the point. They are in win now mode, but still have a solid future with Pasta, Mcavoy, Carlo, Debrusk, Stud, Urho, etc...

All excellent points, people really need to understand the importance of what value their players actually, and not just “ohhh I like my guy so I’m gonna get all these wonderful pieces for him”
Eichel is incredible, no doubt, but he’s on the block and wants out, and some of those teams do not need him.

Does he actually want out? All he said was that he was frustrated with all the losing. Doesn't mean he wants out. It can simply mean that BUF needs to make their team better or just trade Eichel.

True, top clubs seldom put the 'works in the blender' and not all on one guy (even when Gretz was to be traded he requested some Oilers come with)!

To move 6/7/8 pieces + turn the draft board futures into Swiss cheese is high-stakes gambling Vegas-style baby. And then, 6-games in, have Eichel pull a 'hammy' or blow-out--a-knee or get-bell-rung & it's over for 20-years; capiche!! Plus the crater throughout the organization mofo...Prezzie, GM, Coaches, Scouts all toast...

It's the trade for lesser/mid-teams or GM's feeling the Wrath of Satan (ie: no bullets left in the chamber before the unemployment line); "Oh and it's UIC standing in the long line, UIC waiting to get ur pogey, UIC..."

Does he want out today? Maybe not, but don't kid yourself if the new GM came up to him and said look we have a good offer on you, we want to keep you but if you want to play in X team we can make that happen - his answer solely rests on which X team has prepared an offer and I'd have to think it's a very short list of "I'm not interested in playing for X team over Buffalo

The point is, VALUE wise its fair (like you are saying), but PIECE wise, its an overpay by the bruins. WHAT I MEAN by that is: Bruins arent trowing away their Cup finalist team and their entire future for Jack Eichel. It just makes no sense.
