Really dont think so. I dont get why this website thinks we are going to sell so low on Anderson. We have no reason to trade him until the TDL so overpay or else you're not getting him. Pelletier is an overpay but a second round pick in 3 drafts is pretty unfair imo

Anderson had 4 points. Don’t have to rev him up.

Dude he was injured for 3/4 of the year, isn't much more than a 20 goals guy and Pelletier is an «A» prospect, you don't throw those out the window for 2nd/3rd liners

I mean.. didnt I say Pelletier was an overpay? Also the important words were that "we have no reason to trade him". I feel like you didnt really read my comment, you can disagree but it's kinda wrong to take my words out of context. Also calling him just a 20 goal guy REALLY undersell how good he was for 17-18, and 18-19.

Right but he was hurt and was a top 5 forward for us the season before, hence the "selling low" point I made. I'm not saying he had a good year, he was dog**** and not a single fan will tell you different. What I'm saying is It is much more valuable to CBJ to hole onto him and hole he bounces back than to trade him for a 2nd round pick THREE drafts away. We have no cap/roster reasons to get rid of him yet, people here act like hes forcing us to trade him.

No look I know the guy's a hard worker which is great and I know he's big but offensively he's a 20 ish G guy...

He had 27 goals last season and was probably our biggest spark plug in the series vs tampa. Hes a leader in the room. He plays 200 Ft. Hes very physical which Torts loves. You dont trade all that for a pick who wont be in the NHL for ...6 years? Id also argue his trajectory was pulling him closer to being a 30G scorer instead of a 20. If he had a season similar to his 17-18 or 18-19, he would no doubt have been our 3rd best forward behind Bjorkstrand and Dubois this year.

He is in this weird spot considering the terrible year he just had, but CBJ has no absolute obligation to trade him yet, so they hold all the leverage in any trade talks. Just because he has 1 bad year doesnt mean you have to trade him at his lowest point. That's a total anti-Jarmo move

lol just because you have no reason to trade Anderson doesn't mean the Flames will give you their best prospect for a guy who 1 freaking goal last year.

Hmm I think you meant to respond to me? I never said they should trade Pelletier for Anderson. Maybe if you guys actually read my UNEDITED comment where I clearly said Pelletier would be an overpay then you would understand. I literally said Pelletier is an overpay but a 2022 2 is an underpay, I'm not sure why this is controversial.

Is the original ask for Anderson something CBJ fans would consider?

Not quite true that you have all of the leverage. You do realize he is a 26 yr old RFA so you have 3 options:

1.) Sign him to a cheap 1 yr deal and walk him straight to UFA where you hope he resigns with you.
2.) Sign him to a 3.5- 4.5M deal with term and hope that last year was an aberration
3.) Trade him but ain't no one giving you the over pay you think you deserve - especially in a flat / declining cap year.

Which one is it going to be??

The smartest move, to me, is option 4. Hope he bounces back and if not trade him for less at the TDL/let him walk. It's worth the risk, he was that good before this season.

I'd argue we have the leverage for sure, if some GM calls us wanting him we can make our demands because hes our player and as far as we know he isnt wanting out like panarin

As in, the ask that includes Pelletier? Absolutely. But we'd have no real reason to add assets so as to make it palatable to Calgary - Pelletier would be more of a welcome gift than a need to be strongly pursued - so it's kind of a dead-end direction in any case.

Uhhh he needs a contract this summer so I am assuming you mean take option 1 and trade him at the TDL if he bombs out?? The fear there is if he bounces back he is open to everyone else as a UFA next summer

Theres win/loss for every option. I think the best option is to not trade him for a 2round pick in 3 years, re sign him to 1 year and reevaluate the situation at the TDL
