Eichel isnt worth the whole roster

Created by: Jah1722
Team: 2020-21 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 22, 2020
Published: Jun. 22, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The last time a 23yr old or younger top line C was traded that I can remember was Johansen for Jones. An Eichel trade should be based off of that.

BUF can choose between Zegras or pick 3-5 this year. Eichel is better than Johansen was at that time and is locked up long term vs Johansen’s bridge deal so another 1st to make up the difference. BUF can choose BOS 2020 pick or ANA 2021 pick. Henrique off sets the cap a little bit but is also probly worth a 2nd right now. And I’d throw in Tracey just to satisfy them. So the deal is essentially 3 1sts and Henrique for Eichel.

He isn't worth that either LOL

ANA's 2020 1st, Zegras, Henrique and BOS' 1st... that's about his value

@KakkoForMauriceRichardAward I sorta agree but that will never happen and id rather take our chances with picks and Zegras. Any trade that will take place with Eichel will be a losing one for Buffalo. Nt team shouldn't make a deal like the one you propose here.

Yes 3 firsts for a player is a hilarious offer. People are delusional. It’s actually funny.

There aren’t any teams that can afford him without diluting the return with cap dumps.

That’s more than I offered. They aren’t getting Zegras and the top 5 pick. One or the other.

What cap dumps? We can take the salary back if necessary. Henrique and Tracey do not even move the needle, the most valuable thing in this deal is 2020 1st, which for now will be a question mark.

Here’s my thing

1) I agree trading guys like Zegras Lindholm and Rakell would be stupid
2) I think people are asking way too much for Eichel
3) I think Eichel should suck it up and stay in Buffalo

Johansen got a the top D prospect. That’s it. I offered the top C prospect or a choice at a high end winger, an additional first, a first rounder from last year and a current roster player that had 25 goals.

Try reading once in a while. Tracey is a first round pick from last season. Henrique just put up 25 goals.

Cap dumps would have to come from other teams that would be interested as not many can afford $10M.

The problem with your comparison is that Eichel is SO MUCH BETTER than Ryan Johansen

The Sabres don’t HAVE to trade him,
he’s signed for 6 more years
And there will be teams lined up to bid for him if he does become available

So yeah... it’s gonna take A LOT to get him
Clearly more than you’re comfortable with, and that’s fine

But he won’t get traded for anything close to what u propose
Buffalo would just keep him

The problem with Jones for RyJo as a comparison is that it was budding star for budding star. Neither had truly cemented themselves as legit stars, but were very close. Zegras hasn’t done anything other then be a very good prospect, so there’s a negative. Same goes for the pick. Now add in that Eichel IS that star, and is signed for longer term, at a very good salary. So it’s not a good comparison, and if that’s the best offer Buffalo rejects. Notice how most, if not all Eichel trades aren’t made by Sabres fans? Think that says a lot about our thoughts on moving him period

Where's the third 1st? I see two here. If you think Buffalo's GM doesn't laugh for an hour straight after hearing this offer then you my friend, are beyond delusional.

Except Jones was an established NHL Dman at the time of the trade. A legit 1st liner that was budding into a star. So no, RyJo didn’t just “get a top d prospect”. RyJo got his equivalent in a Dman from a team that was loaded at d (Nash)

Tracey late first. For Henrique, I can give you the maximum of Ristolainen, which basically scores as many points. You definitely won’t get Eichel with such a terrible package.

You can’t look at Johansen now. Look at him at the time. 71points the season before he got traded. Not quite the 80 from Eichel but still quality. Now compare jones to Zegras or top 5 pick it’s not too far off. Hence the addition of a 1st round pick plus last seasons first round pick. Henrique is a quality piece that could be a stop gap or be moved for additional futures. He is coming off 25 goal season.

Also people aren’t understanding that if BUF does trade Eichel it’s a full rebuild. They’ll need futures. Not Lindholm or Rakell who are close to end of contract.

Tracey was a first last season. Plus if Henrique is moved he’ll get a 2nd at worst. If you think Buffalo’s front office has any idea what their doing then you my friend are beyond delusional.

Deception. Yeah RyJo had 71 the year BEFORE he was traded. What about the year he was traded? 26 in 38, with only 6 of those being goals. You seem to be purposefully leaving out details to strengthen your side of the argument.

Henrique is a stop gap who has value and offsets a little of the cap. He’s not meant to be a huge part of the assets. BUF is getting either a replacement C in Zegras or a high end winger of their choosing in the draft plus 2 other 1st round draft picks.
