Yeah Domi for Reinhart straight up as been generally agreed on as fair value. Not that either team would, but your kinda shooting for the moon without much basis..

Domi = Reinhart + 3rd

Mete = 2nd + 3rd

4th is just because Buffalo has no 3rds so both 3rds need a bump perhaps it should actually be a 3rd but I would say the value is close.

therefore with the additional pick the values bump slightly to.

Domi = Reinhart + 2nd

Mete = 1st

If the Sabres are giving up Reino they would not be adding to just acquire Domi. Both players have pluses and minuses but similar value wise. Each would fill a need for the other team but if either side sees it as creating another whole that cannot be filled then the deal would not work. I could see either team accepting or passing on this trade if offered up 1 for 1

Yeah your math doesn’t add up. Domi = Reinhart. Like about dead even. Surely isn’t a third. Domi is a center, so he gets a slight edge. Reinhart scores more goals, so he gets a little bump.

And no one ever would trade a first rounder (where the Sabres are drafting that is) for a second and a third (which Mete is close to more like 2nd this year (38) and a lower round pick)

You are overvaluing your own, and undervaluing the Sabres pieces.

Actually it wasn't that I value Domi more, I just did not realize how close the gap was in P%, I do however disagree with your value of Mete a 22 YO top 4 puck moving Dman who still has some developing to do is worth more than a 2nd + late pick even in a down year. I also forgot where the Sabres finished so your right about that not being enough.

Better Value would be to go Domi + Mete = Reinhart + 2020 2nd + 2021 Conditional 4th (Condition being if Mete resigns in Buffalo it becomes a 2022 3rd) Fair enough?
