Steel, Lundestrom (both of whom you have in the wrong place) and even Groulx are better prospects than Howden. No thanks.

Larsson for Nils Lundqvist and a pick -- now there's an idea.

Howden has the worst CF% and FF% in the entire league among forwards with at least 60 games.

I think ANA declines. Larsson was "meh" for most of the year, but he has shown glimpses of being a solid 3rd pairing option + he's cheap. Moreover, IMO, Howden is very similar to recently drafted Brayden Tracey in so much as he doesn't have any glaring weaknesses, but doesn't excel in a particular area either. I don't really see a need for this trade. Lundestrom or Steel will take that #3C position eventually.

Rangers would laugh. Lundkvist is one of the most slept on prospects in this league. Get out of here.

You guys don't want Lias instead? Howden is ok but Lias has higher upside considering what Howden has shown...

I'm from the planet where Lundkvist isn't going to play in the NHL next season, or the season after that, either. Meanwhile, Larsson already has 109 games under his belt and you guys need a LD now.

Larsson and Lundkvist are rated equally by Dobber Prospects and Larsson is three if not four years ahead of him.

the Rangers absolutely do not need LD right now. they are still in rebuild, albeit at the end of it. the rebuild shouldn't be considered over until Hank, Staal, Smith and Shatty's buyout are off the books.
they certainly do not need LD at the expense of one of the best D prospects outside of North America.

You don't need LD right now?!? You're in the playoffs this year and therefore want and expect to contend next year. Yes, I can see what the left side of your defense for 2020-2021 looks like: Staal, Ryan Lindgren (one full season in the NHL), Libor Hajek (one goal and five assists in 33 NHL games), and utter rookies. Yes, you need a better player at #2LD right now.

the Rangers are not a playoff team this year - they are only competing by circumstance.
the only expectation for this team if there is a full season next year is to be competitive and push to be a bubble team.
they have no reason to trade one of their top prospects for a fringe 2nd pairing dman.

I'm surprised to see in what low regard you hold your team.
By the time Lundkvist reaches the NHL, you'll be old enough to know better.
Remember that Lias Andersson was drafted seventh overall.

it has nothing to do with holding the Rangers in low regard and more about being realistic. they have exceed expectations this year and that is a great sign of things to come.
if you think this Rangers team is in compete now mode, you haven't paid attention at all.
30% of their cap is currently tied up by ineffective veterans at the end of their career and buyouts. approximately 13 players on the roster are still on RFA deals.
why would a team still in rebuild send their top defensive prospect for a middle of the road dman?

if you want Nils, it starts with one of your Top 2 prospects.

Easy decline from the Rangers. Don’t think Larsson beats out Hajek or Rykov.
