at some point you dont have enough contracts.

preying on teams due to a flat cap and with you plethora of picks, THIS should be the year ottawa makes moves. keep the 1sts, and use your cap space to prey on teams caught in bad situations and build a contender.

Ottawa is taking nearly 13million in cap space for you, why not do it?

Vancouver I can see doing to free up cap space since they're in contending mode at the moment. The Rangers I can't see doing this. Close but not contending yet. Due to the vast amount of dead money tied up for the next year, I just see the Rangers riding it for one more year then hitting the markets in 2021 offseason.

Because we don't trade first rounders for expiring cap space? it's extremely risky and we can work around our cap issues considering Staal, Smith, Lundqvist are all off the books in one season.

i see Ottawa needing 2 top line forwards, another top 6 forward and a top pairing dman to compete. Next year will still be a bottom year and a big draft

Melnyk will never sign off on eating that much salary, as good an idea as it is.

There is a lot of fake money in this team by other teams paying the SB on nose diving contracts. Perfect for Melnyk!

Sens should prey on teams needing cap space for next year by acquiring picks. Thats the smart thing to do!

I thought NYR needed cap space to do some signing of their own (Strome) and potentially add some FA's to their team. If you look at the Marleau trade this is more than double the amount of cap space for the same price! I don't think they are far off from competing and Sens would be perfect to help them out with their cap situation. If NYR isn't the team to do it to, they can do this to other teams needing a hand (NYI, Van (more so than already doing so), TBL etc).

Check out my recent post if you wanna know how it'll go down. If you want assets for cap space call Toronto, Vancouver, St.louis anyone but us. We've had those growing pains for awhile.
