Some history, Kerfoot was drafted by the Devils. He refused to play for them and stayed an extra year to become a UFA. He will not be traded to the Devils.

I like Jones but losing marner for him is a no. Leafs dont need Jones, they just need a defensive defenseman partner for Rielly. Someone like Savard would be perfect and shouldnt be to hard to extend.

Werenski and Jones are off limits for Columbus. Can't see them trading either of those guys unless they plan on completely rebuilding. In which case they'd want a bunch of futures. Not Marner and that contract.

Well if you want to weaken the Leafs,,,, yep the Leafs should make those trades.
Jones only has two years till UFA, and Anderson had 1 goal in 26 games so what he is? For Marner and the cost efficient and good Holl? C'mon
Severson yea he shoots right handed but he costs about 2m more than Dermot. The difference in play between the dependable, improving Dermot and Severson isn't a first and second rounder.

Why not?

Because Columbus doesn’t want to trade Jones and Toronto isn’t trading Marner. Columbus also can’t really afford Marner without losing some serious players. Jones+Savard is more important to Columbus then Marner would be.

You would be run out of Toronto if you tried trading Marner let alone Holl who is emerging as solid defender in short period of time. The Leafs and their fans have been dreaming for years to get a player like Marner and you trade him like your hockey cards. You need to take a look at what you just proposed and ask yourself why did you do it. You obviously do not really follow the Leafs.

Do not kid yourself. This kid is going to be a real player in the NHL. Babcock was an idiot not to play Holl last year but Dubas knew better and now you are just starting to see what he can do and he is only getting started.
