Team: 2020-21 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 23, 2020
Published: Jun. 24, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
20 min a night for Leon’s line
15 min a night for ennis and JP
15 min a night for neal and kassian.
10 min for special teams. 4th line pk guys.
Mcdavid is free to double shift between 2&3
Plays about 20 min a night 5-5 +pp
Leaving Bennett about 10 min as a serviceable placeholder for possibly Mcloed.
These minutes are just a rough guideline to how would deploy. Offers JP the minutes he requested while giving flexibility on match ups.
For the blueline I hate giving jones up only doing so because he earned ice time can’t provide him I think 2 seconds is very fair. I pick russell over Jones because of his style of play I think will allow bouch more freedom to join plays and get comfortable with his own game.
As there is injuries russell is versatile and able to move up also switch sides.

jones is a promising young dman but in no way is he worth two seconds
the oilers could have signed stolarz after the 18-19 season, if they didn't sign him then, they for sure will not trade for him now

Chiarot Romanov Mete Kulak Norlinder Harris Struble > Caleb Jones, I think we’re good on the left side. We could trade for a TOP PAIRING LHD or high top4 ( Brodin )

Change Stolarz out only meant as cheap back up singed Howard. Jones being young nhl ready and 2years under a million I think would be worth it for the habs

Maybe Kulak and Mete but right now they are both better and Norlinder Harris Struble Romanov have all a higher ceiling then those 3 ( Mete Kulak Jones )

Had it as Montreal first since by my eye they could really use a LD and I could see slotting in with petry and have 2 years under a million but that didn’t go over well so I don’t mind dealing with their rival and offer a cup contending team a young damn good LD that costs next to nothing proving additional cap saving options but I assume most haven’t really watched jones or seen the outstanding growth in his game so listing a certain team will just open a needless debate when all I care about is the return. First come first serve. I don’t think the ask is far out considering how good he’s looked and the contract he’s on.

That Sheahan contract is a massive overpay. He's reportedly asking for $1.5M x 2 but Holland is wisely not putting pen to paper. He had a terrible season.

With a flat cap there should be plenty of bottom-6 defensive types available for fairly cheap on the open market.

Fair, and yes i like him, but yeah unfortunately the bruins are like the last team the needs another dman. We have a perfect RHD, and a perfect LHD with two solid LHD prospects still
