I was gonna say keep in mind of the young players you have to pay in the next 2-3 years, but they've got a lot of dead cap and expiring contracts coming off the books. I say do it for the picks.

laugh laugh Why in the hell would Detroit take on $17 million in salary only to healthy scratch them? Dude you need to remember that we're looking at a flat cap both this year and next. You didn't even sign our RFAs which will eat more then what w have left here. Plus we need to have salary on hand next year to resign Hronek and others Rasmussen. While getting 1st round picks is nice this isn't even remotely feasible on our part.

Well Perlini isn’t worth a 1st and so isn’t Helm.. I rather keep Neal if we are going to have to trade the first round pick. And plus worse case scenario if all goes bad. We could buy him out.

Maybe one of these deals but not all of them. I don't mind james Neal has overpaid but he can at least play and put some depth on the wings. Id prefer a more short term cap dump. Ericsson from van or staal or Smith from ny.

Neal isn’t a bad player I think would actually be of real value to Detroit. I’m not big on the first but I’d strongly consider this deal since it’s removing the term and the first is a 22 to me that’s the real sell that makes sense for oilers. More flexibility in the short term with plenty of time to recoup a first for that year.

Every team says no to this. You think teams just hand out 1st rounders?

Why would the Preds pay a conditional 1st to get a worse player on a slightly less salary? That makes zero sense.

Nashville buys Turris out and saves more money without having to pay a first for a player that wouldn't make the team (Nielsen). 2M through the 27-28 season if there's no free buyouts but better then paying a 1st and only saving 750K.

All due respect to him but..That's ok with Kenny at your helm...you see cap crisis on regular basis..enioy

Just say for a man who was part of 4 Cups...instead of fanbase demanding statue of him in thanks....most were dying for him to move up or leave ...for new vision (Yzerman or not) ...id say ..it got damn bad..hence our horrid depth chart & farm system last 1.5 decades minus a couple nice 1st rders

The only way I see oilers doing that deal is if they can't buy him out

I read somewhere that the bad contracts were caused by ittlich wanting to keep the playoff streak alive
