Hawks need to add a 3rd rounder to the Minnesota trade IMO.

Hawks should not consider the Oilers trade IMO and it's weighted towards the Hawks. If the Oilers first rounder was a true mid 1st in the teens (15th through 19th OA), I'd be more open to it. The main reason is the Hawks have Boqvist, Bouchard, Mitchell, Regula, and Seabrook (without Murphy if you trade him) all on the right side. If Bouchard played on the left, definitely would be all over this but something would have to go back to the Oilers.

Great ideas here though and just think the Oilers trade needs to be tweaked a little; maybe include Regula going back to the Oilers given he is very good prospect with a 2021 2nd coming back....giving more value to the Oilers to help balance the trade.

As much as I would love DeBrincat, you are not getting Bouchard back as part of the deal.

Thats kind of the going rate for 22 year old 40 goal scorers

If you could find a debrincat deal that looked similar but with a LHD i would be more open to it. I don't think the hawks should take that EDM deal

Cat is clearly worth more then Bouchard at this point in both their careers. I can understand why the Oilers don't want to give up Bouchard though, but value wise the deal is not that far off.

As an outside observer if they replaced Bouchard with Broberg, would that make the deal close to palatable from Chicago's POV?

You must not be serious. If there’s one player you trade Bouchard for, its Debrincat

I never understood why they drafted Broberg. Podkolzin would’ve been better. That’s unless they knew Nurse was leaving in 2 years

I’m not disagreeing from that standpoint however, almost any trade involving Bouchard is a no go (unless it involves a RD).

If EDM added another pick maybe. I think Bouchard is more valuable than Broberg. Cat for Broberg, JP, and the 2020 1st isn't bad but I'm skeptical for the hawks to give up a young 40 goal scorer for a ton of unknowns.

Debrincat is one of the few players that its worth moving Bouchard for. The deal doesn't make ssense for the hawks anyways, we already have Boqvist and Mitchell. Maybe if the hawks sent Mitchell back to EDM and EDM added something else on their side it would make more sense for both sides

Does Benson instead of Pool make it better?

I would prefer JP. Overall I just don't think edmington makes sense as a spot for Debrincat. Bringing him in means they probably lose Nuge anyways which they don't want to do

Cheap young RHD are hard to find! There is a reason that top 4 RHD are expensive to acquire, so you need to draft them and hope they pan out. Is the deal fair the way it is, definitely but wingers are way easier to find and sign. If the Hawks would take Broberg then I would do the deal in an instant but I am not sure that would be enough

Franchise is a little over the top. You would pick Debrincat as a player to start a franchise?

First trade for Kapanen that wouldn't get hung up on by Dubas. It would at very least get a converstation started. Not bad.
