Change Horvat to EP

I don't think Vancouver does EP for Eichel 1 for 1. How do they get 9M in cap space? Plus it's not really even much of an upgrade.

I don't think Vancouver does EP for Eichel straight up. EP is on ELC.

There's no reason to from VAN's perspective, but that's what BUF would want. Maybe Horvat + Boeser + Virtanen + Demko + 1st is closer -- but I still think VAN should pass. They have a good 1-2 punch at center already with Petterson - Horvat. No need to mess with that.

No either EP or QH need to go the other way.

If Pettersson is in the trade I think Buffalo adds.

Hughes is possible but Buffalo would probably have to take some bad contracts back to make up for the cap difference.
Maybe Hughes + Horvat + Eriksson

If a Jack Eichel trade includes Pettersson or Hughes Vancouver better run away fast. Absolutely no way they make a deal involving those 2 players for Eichel. I think Pettersson will be better than Eichel if he isn't already and Hughes will be a top 5 D in this league.

No to the original trade post from BUFF & def NO to any Loui add-ons.
VAN has to make room, if required, by dumping him separately from BUFF to some other pidgeon...

Buffalo adds?? With Eichel in there? Come on.

Vancouver should be saying no anyway. Keep EP, Hughes, Brock, etc and run with them. Good looking roster.

Pettersson has more points than Eichel at the same age plus he is on ELC. So yeah. Buffalo adds.

But Petersson has a better team. He has such a great center behind him as Horvat, and Eichel has not had anyone behind him for the past two years.

Comparing the two players is ridiculous. If Eichel is in any trade the other team is adding, unless a VERY select few players are involved (McDavid, Matthews, Crosby, Mack)

VAN doesn't need to make that Eichel trade, they are trending in the right direction already.

If I’m BUF, Horvat is a good start, but you’re trading them more cap than what they are trading out. I don’t think Boeser with his health concerns and contract is something a rebuilding team is going to want. Change Boeser to Podkolzin, change Virtanen to a 1st, and throw in a conditional first and you have the start of negotiations I think.

That is so much more cap coming back to BUF though.

Like I said. A deal with Pettersson doesn't get done. There's literally no point getting Eichel if you're trading out Pettersson that's a tiny upgrade and you take on 9M in cap hit.

Buffalo has an extra ~3.5M after all the contracts are signed... You use cap to get players... You have a 1C and a 1RW and a good middle 6RW. Even if you sign league minimum players that difference in salary coming back is only 2M.

Only one of those changes would happen. You want Podkolzin instead of Boeser... sure. Not a chance the Canucks go without a 1st for 3 years in a row. Their prospect pool would be completely gutted.

Eichel is out of Buffalo in 6 years. Pettersson could be on the team for 15 years. Buffalo adds...

You're just flat out wrong, through and through. I agree Vancouver doesn't do it, but no way in any realistic world does Buffalo add. Never ever.

i think if any team in the league trades their franchise player the return would fill an urgent need. when it comes to Matthews, Pettersson, McDavid, Eichel... you would never trade them one for one and a centerman for a centerman is redundant too, what would the point be? Buff has a great Centerman, VAN has a great Centerman, just highfive and keep your guy
