Isles would stupid to do this. Bellows looks good and Parise contract is horrible. Ladd is likely to be placed on LTIR within the next 1-2 years considering NHL mileage and injuries.

Mikko didn't waive his no trade clause.

Parise is signed until he is 40 so not a great contract, but he was still productive this year. I think Parise will also end up on the LTIR in 2 to 3 years ( becauseof his back). So I don't think the deal is as bad as it looks. That said I wouldn't make the deal either because I don't think the islanders are that close to really contending.

Hmmm maybe. If we're giving up that little then maybe. With that retention, the trade actually gives the Isles some cap relief for the first three years. I just hope Parise will be effective for that long

Where'd you hear that one? It was never reported here that Koivu was actually in any trade talks, just that Guerin had told him if he wanted to go to a contender, he'd try to make it happen.

Isles are 2 years away banking on Sorokin, Wahlstrom, and Dobson to come in while growing the game of Toews and Beauvillier.
