So lets go over this offer
- Debrusk is a 23 year old 40 point left winger with some potential of 50 points.
- Zboril is a bust, maybe makes the 3rd pair on teams lacking LD depth (definitely not Calgary)
- Trent is a potential 4th line, shut down center.
- and a late 2nd in draft considered to be relatively weak.

For
- Gaudruea, a top 10 LW league wide, that is 9th in scoring since entering the league. That is coming of a poor year.
- Lucic (2M retained), a serviceable bottom 6 NHLer that plays with heart and is a pure physical presence.

Now lets remove Lucic from the equation because A) Calgary management has never retained on a contract and arent going to start now, B) They aren't going to attach his contract to the best player on their team to ship him out, and C) Flames fans and management like Lucic and the leadership role he brings.

So in what world does a bunch of scraps get Gaudreau?

And Gawdin is hardly worth that 2nd

Not sure how I'm undervaluing Debrusk, he played on the best team in the league this year and put up a worse GAR than Mangiapane yet I still consider him better as a bonafide 2nd line LW that will put up 40-50 points a year (kinda around Drouin caliber). The difference between Debrusk and Mang is really not that big
Pasta is NOT "much better" than Johnny, he's 2 years younger and signed for roughly the same cap hit for only 1 extra year. Neither can play defense at all and Pasta is the better goal scorer but not the better playmaker. Also Johnny drives his line, Pasta does not.
Trent is literally ranked as a bottom 6 NHLer by professionals. he has 17 NHL games and zero points. He hardly puts up a half point per game pace in the AHL too. Saying he has top 6 potential is a massive stretch.

As for my trade proposal comparison I meant to add a 2021 2nd as well

Kylington is easily a better version of Zboril
