why not just wait till he is a UFA. He can decide whether or not to come play for the team he grew up watching and dreamed of being with. Or he can stay with the oilers.

UFA players can go where they wish. Mcdavid said before he was drafted his dream was to play for the Maple Leafs. His buddy Dermott is with them as well which is an added bonus. Now not saying its a guarantee but he is either gonna stay with the Oilers or come home. As said before its completely up to him.

And I’m saying a player already did that, and this AGM can’t wait to get rid of him to make space for a shiny new toy.
