Domi Idea From Another Thread

Description
Domi trade based on a comment in this AGM: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/336628
I assumed the Domi contract in there was a little low, and bumped it up a tad.

Foudy is the first forward callup; I expect him to be getting first-line minutes in Cleveland and fill-in minutes here. Peeke is first up on D.

Possible position swaps:
* Foligno and Nyquist - that second line has a lot of smaller guys on it, so Foligno may be needed there.
* Texier and Jenner - Torts likes to use Jenner as his guy for easing prospective centers into the NHL, so I put them on the same line with Tex at center as the starting move, but Jenner would be covering for him as needed.
* Grigorenko and Nash - Really depends on whether or not Grigorenko can be a NHL-level C.

I hazarded a guess or three at RFA retentions, but really the only ones I'm reasonably confident of are Stenlund and Carlsson being retained and Shore walking.

no no and no
I dont like it, Murray too often injured, Anderson might not bounce back and we are sending too many picks to get that 1st rd pick. We'll stick to Domi instead

Itd be worth it if the pick ends up in the top 12. And remove MTLs pick and Murray. Domi for Anderson and a high pick could make sense. But I think Id stick with Domi tbh

Whereabouts is CBJ's pick in this scenario? Because honestly, if it's like top 12-ish, I think they could do better.

I don’t think MTL is making that trade. I think Domi is a great target, but he would probably cost us Foudy or Marchenko+ to get, so he might not be worth it.

I mean for more than a decade we've had more success with our second round picks than our first rounders, can't blame the fanbase for wanting to keep those ahah. Also for years management gave 2nd rounders away like they were prizes in a raffle and that made a punched a hole in our pipeline.
